AAT: Advanced Allergy Therapeutics:

Advanced Allergy Therapeutics is a clinically proven treatment that is highly effective in relieving the many symptoms associated with allergies and sensitivities. It is a therapeutic approach that evolved from over 20 years of collaborative research from health care professionals in the fields of acupuncture, naturopathy and chiropractic. It is safe for all ages, holistic, non-invasive, highly effective and requires no medications, injections, needles, skin prick testing, blood testing or avoidance.

What to expect for your initial AAT assessment and treatment:

  • Please allow 75 minutes for the initial appointment.
  • Discussion of personal health history and intake forms
  • Review of previous test results (if any)
  • AAT Assessment 45-60 minutes utilizing MRT, Muscle Response Testing (safe & non-invasive)
  • One treatment for an allergen group (e.g. dogs, pollens,or dairy, etc.)
  • Explanation of the treatment process throughout the appointment
  • Report of Findings with recommendations on your care plan, any other treatment options, any necessary referrals for additional testing or other healthcare providers/services

Two hours after your appointment, it is best for you to refrain from the substance addressed as well as smoking, drinking alcohol and coffee, or consuming a lot of sugar.  These recommendations are due to the fact your body is in a calm and relaxed state following a treatment and we want to to remain that way. We do encourage you to hydrate with water so you are not dehydrated. We are trying for your body to be in a relaxed state. So you can enjoy the Clinton waterfalls, take a walk along the trail, visit The Red Mill, take a stroll down Main Street and enjoy the restaurants and stores, walk the Spruce Run reservoir. It’s so easy to enjoy all that historic downtown Clinton has to offer and it is a wonderful way to stay relaxed.

You may bring your past medical allergy test results but they are not necessary for our assessment and treatment.  At the end of your Initial Assessment & Treatment you will have a customized allergy treatment plan to address each allergen group associated with your unwanted symptoms. The treatment plan will be prioritized to alleviate symptoms as quickly and effectively as possible.

What to expect for your follow up appointments:

Each Follow Up Appointment will take about 20 to 30 minutes. Dr. Garvey will check to ensure the previous treatment was successful. Together, we will then determine which allergen group to address and perform your next treatment.

What to expect in Functional Medicine and Nutrition visit

Allergy Breakthrough Center is a safe place to share your struggles, ask questions and look deeper for answers typically overlooked by conventional medicine. With a focus on “why” is this happening and “what” can be done to get to the root cause,  Allergy Breakthrough Center approaches things differently. This type of care creates a partnership between the patient and practitioner to best facilitate results and overall wellness. This means a Doctor actually listens and customizes recommendations and treatments for YOU!

Functional Medicine is an approach that considers the patient as a whole. Instead of just treating a symptom, the doctor will look “upstream” and ask, “Why is this happening? What’s the root cause? Can we make a change at the source of the problem?” Functional medicine practitioners spend time with their patients, listening to their histories and looking at the interactions among epigenetic, environmental, and lifestyle factors that can influence long-term health and complex, chronic disease. In this way, functional medicine supports the unique expression of health and vitality for each individual. Dr. Garvey’s Functional Medicine approach utilizes holistic and natural methods whenever possible, knowing that “prevention” is the key to avoiding the many chronic diseases currently plaguing our society.

Dr. Garvey focuses specifically on holistic functional medicine with a deep dive intake, history, and assessment from the Functional Medicine perspective and together we will come up with a priority list of what needs to be addressed. Dr. Garvey will determine the need for any laboratory testing: blood, advanced gut labs, stool, urine, saliva, genetic or hormonal testing. Dr. Garvey will recommend your labs and provides lab requisition forms & mobile or in-lab phlebotomy services, and any referrals for your recommendations. Often, we may not need labs, since Dr. Garvey’s thorough intake can often shine light onto root cause problems. It is normal to use tools such as nutrition, meal plans, supplementation, lifestyle changes (sleep, stress, movement), holistic therapies and whatever means necessary to restore health.

Dr. Garvey works with adults and children of all ages and all budgets. Often many Functional Medicine practitioners require laboratory tests that some cannot afford in their budgets and Dr. Garvey will always give you her best recommendations but will meet you where you are and provide alternatives and solutions that are within any budget.

This is the follow-up visit AFTER your intake is done. Dr. Garvey reviews any lab findings with you and folds in any new pieces of information to combine these with your history, intake, symptoms, nutritional status, diet and lifestyle, all in order to make a thorough assessment. Dr. Garvey explains in a way that is easy to understand and creates a plan for your optimal health and wellness. She will discuss what you are comfortable with and Dr. Garvey will meet you where you are, but will always give you her best recommendations. Together, we will create a priority list of what needs to be addressed and suggestions using holistic principles of diet, meal plans, lifestyle changes (sleep, stress, exercise, relaxation, etc.), supplementation, holistic therapies, and referrals to other practitioners/services and testing as needed. Dr. Garvey addresses all pillars of health in the functional medicine process.

For existing clients of Dr. Garvey she may address any questions, review your current progress and make any changes as needed, discuss your diet, meal plans and supplementation and provide additional analysis or analyze labs further. This is a partnership to help bring your body, mind and spirit into balance with nutrition, movement, stress, sleep and connection.
